After people finish my Camera Basics Class, I often get asked, "What's the NEXT step?" My "students" are excited to put what they've learned into practice and even try the next step: EDITING!
Now there is a class for those of you who have asked this same question! I'm so excited to announce the first round of Model Magic: Beyond Camera Basics for February 29, 2020.
Anyone with a basic knowledge of and practice with manual settings, a DSLR, and a laptop or tablet with the editing software can attend this class.
Class will consist of two main sections. First, we will work with models at an outdoor location to go over lighting, posing, and (most importantly) practice your settings with me by your side! I will guide you through using the exposure triangle to get your images "right" in-camera.
After this practical application time, we will go back to the studio to review images and EDIT! I will show you how I use Lightroom and Photoshop to enhance images, AND guide you through editing some of your images from our practice with the models. Editing basics for Lightroom and basic touchups in Photoshop will be the focus for this portion.
Needed:
- Basic understanding of manual settings, ISO, aperture, shutter speed
- DSLR camera and SD card
- Prime lens (such as 35mm, 50mm, or 85mm) recommended but not required
- Laptop with Lightroom Classic (make sure it is Classic and not the cloud-based one) and Photoshop are strongly recommended for the editing portion of class
